Afrique : Orange annonce les lauréats du Prix Orange de l’Entrepreneur Social en Afrique 2015

Orange a annoncé hier les lauréats du Prix Orange de l’Entrepreneur Social en Afrique 2015, en Afrique du Sud, lors de la cérémonie des AfricaCom Awards au Cap.
L’opérateur a récompensé, pour la 5ème année consécutive, trois projets innovants favorisant le développement africain. L’objectif est de stimuler les initiatives des entrepreneurs plaçant les technologies au service des besoins des populations d’Afrique. L’appel à candidatures a récolté plus de 600 projets innovants Ouvert de mai à septembre, l’appel à candidatures a récolté plus de 600 projets innovants. Ces propositions illustraient le potentiel des télécommunications dans le développement du continent africain, dans les domaines aussi variés que la santé, l’agriculture, l’éducation ou encore l’énergie. Onze projets ont été présélectionnés par un jury composé d’experts Orange, de médias et d’institutions et présentés sur le portail Star Africa (www.starafrica.com). Les trois lauréats ont reçu des bourses de 25 000, 15 000 et 10 000 euros et six mois d’accompagnement par des experts. Orange finance aussi le dépôt d’un brevet pour le premier prix.
Les projets récompensés cette année sont les suivants :
- Le 1er prix est attribué à Bassita (www.bassita.org). La start-up égyptienne a inventé le concept du click-funding. Elle propose à des entreprises de soumettre leur projet social, culturel ou environnemental sur la plateforme Bassita. S’il atteint son objectif de clics sous forme de partages sur les réseaux sociaux, le projet obtient un don de la part d’un sponsor.
- La start-up solidaire upOwa (www.upowa.org) remporte le 2ème prix. L’entreprise camerounaise a développé une solution solaire intelligente visant à offrir de l’électricité de qualité aux zones rurales de l’Afrique de l’Ouest et de l’Afrique Centrale, non raccordées au réseau électrique.
- Le 3ème prix est attribué à l’entreprise malienne myAgro / N’Ga Sene (www.myagro.org) qui a développé une application mobile permettant aux fermiers d’acheter des graines et engrais de qualité et de bénéficier d’une formation agricole. myAgro contribue à optimiser les productions agricoles et à améliorer les conditions de vie des agriculteurs.
